Sisam & Sons LTD run two blocks totally pasture based on the hill country surrounding the dairy farms. A block manager and two shepherds are employed on each block and manage the day to day running of the enterprise.
Stock policies comprise intensive bull beef, dairy grazing, prime cattle finishing and sheep breeding /finishing. Bull beef cattle are primarily Friesian and prime cattle are beef dairy cross, all being sourced from the dairy industry.
The ewe breeding flock is a high performing stabilised hybrid comprising Romney, Perendale, Coopworth and Texel. A emphasis is placed on lamb growth, easy care lambing and facial eczema tolerance.
The farm was the winner of the Waikato/ BOP region Silver Fern Farms Plate to Pasture Awards in 2018 and 2016.
